Valagro BioSciences guest of the National Biodiversity Authority in the ASEAN-INDIA Cooperation Meeting

Valagro BioSciences Ltd., the Indian subsidiary of the Valagro Group, a global leader in the production and marketing of biostimulants and specialty nutrients, participated in the "Regional Training Workshop on Development and Implementation of ABS Legal framework to implement Nagoya Protocol on Access and Benefit Sharing (ABS) and Traditional Knowledge Digital Library" within the ASEAN-INDIA Cooperation Project, which took place in Chennai, India.
As part of this international event, which was attended by representatives of the main central government institutions, the academic and productive world of India and other Asian countries, Valagro BioSciences accepted the invitation to illustrate the path towards obtaining compliance with the Biological Diversity Act (2002), the regulatory instrument through which the National Biodiversity Authority (NBA) regulates access and use of the market to all bio-resources present in India with the aim of protecting the country's biodiversity.
The path illustrated by the management of Valagro BioSciences began in October 2016 and ended successfully two years later, with the signing of the agreements for "benefit sharing": compliance with the regulatory framework on the use of bio-resources certified by NBA in 2018 is a prerequisite that will allow Valagro BioSciences to market a new generation of innovative and sustainable solutions that include new biostimulants, biofertilizers and products for biocontrol, developed thanks to the use of technologies such as microbiomes, genomics and fermentation.
Luca Fornara, Country Manager Valagro BioSciences Ltd.: "We are very proud of the invitation to present our experience we received from NBA, we will be presenting alongside other big companies like Reliance and L'Oreal, which operate in the Indian market and globally. We believe that our presence in a reference event like this for Indian institutions and businesses, as well as for the world of Asian production, is a great attestation of esteem and recognition for the commitment of Valagro and its Indian branch, Valagro BioSciences, to making its agricultural solutions meet the highest regulatory standards in the country. Valagro constantly pursues this goal to implement the Group's global strategy: to take a leading role in the biological sector for the agriculture of the future, which will be more productive, more efficient and more sustainable".
