Valagro’s innovative approach for helping Brazilian agriculture become more profitable and sustainable

At the Valagro for Future Farming project event in Campinas, there will be unique innovation in the service of Brazilian farmers’ needs and a special focus on the row crops market

Valagro, a leading company in the production and sale of biostimulants and specialty nutrients, is promoting its Valagro for Future Farming project with a new, engaging stage in Brazil. The event Ciência Por Trás Dos Bioestimulantes Em Grandes Culturas: Soluções Inovadoras Da Valagro Para O Brasil” is organised in cooperation with the subsidiary Valagro do Brasil and will take place today, in Campinas (SP), at the Premium Hotel.
With the Valagro for Future Farming project, the company intends to promote and strengthen its commitment to the main target markets in shaping the agriculture of tomorrow through the development and supply of increasingly innovative and sustainable solutions and technologies.
The event addresses Brazilian farmers’ needs to get higher and healthier yields optimising the use of agricultural inputs. This is a real challenge which Brazilian agriculture has to face, especially in the row crops sector, based on intensive cultivation systems aimed at obtaining increasingly higher yields to meet the growing demand for food.
The event is a valuable opportunity to share Valagro’s unique approach - made possible thanks to a continuing commitment in R&D - with key customers, opinion leaders, researchers, technicians and large farmers in Brazil. The exclusive GeaPower technology platform underlies all of Valagro’s solutions for sustainable crop nutrition and currently represents a global standard in the development of biostimulants* and other specialty nutrients.
Among the key speakers at the event will be Prof. Dr. Paulo Sentelhas and Prof. Dr. Alessandro Guerra. Prof. Dr. Paulo Sentelhas, from Escola Superior de Agricultura "Luiz de Queiroz" - Universidade de São Paulo – will be discussing strategies to minimise the effect of abiotic stress in soybeans, one of the major causes affecting crop productivity. In addition, Prof. Dr. Alessandro Guerra, Universidade de Rio Verde (Goias), will focus on the technical management of biostimulants for row crops. Valagro representatives will also participate as key speakers at the event. Gianluca di Tommaso, Global Head of Crop Management, will be covering important aspects of GeaPower, Valagro’s proprietary technology and innovation platform for product development, and Murilo Moraes – Crop manager of large crops, Valagro do Brasil, will be getting into the specifics of the best solutions for the Brazilian market.
To conclude, Victor Sonzogno, Valagro Head of Brazil & South Cone Region, will take the stage to show the audience Valagro do Brasil’s growth prospects.
The company has been present in Brazil since 1998. Its historical presence is due to the diffusion of technology in special nutrition in horti-fruits cultures. In the past years, Valagro do Brasil has developed a complete solution to row crops which has been shown to the market during key agricultural events in Brazil, such as Agrobrasilia and Tecnoshow. The company is targeting great transformation in its 2018-2022 strategic plan. Important strategies have been developed to open new key geographical areas such as Paraná, Rio Grande do Sul and Mato Grosso, as well as strengthening the position in the Goias and Triangulo Mineiro areas.
These objectives will be pursued thanks to a production and distribution platform allowed by the new facility located in Pirassununga in the State of São Paulo and inaugurated in 2017. It will allow the Brazilian subsidiary to improve the distribution of specific and innovative solutions for local market and LATAM, and shows a strong commitment with Brazilian Market in getting closer to its distributors, cooperatives and partners.
Victor Sonzogno, Valagro Head of Brazil & South Cone Region:About 80% of Valagro's customers are currently concentrated among the fruit and vegetable industries. The grain market is still not explored much by the company, despite its enormous potential. With the inauguration of the unit in Pirassununga, the intention is not only to consolidate the company’s presence in the markets in which it is already present, but enlarge the adoption of our solutions in soybean, corn and cotton markets for which Valagro recently created and launched its innovative and specific nutritional solution, YieldON".
