Valagro's continues to lead innovation at the 3rd World Congress on the use of Biostimulants in Agriculture

From studies on natural RNAs to the "in-house mini-phenomics" platform: the latest Valagro research news on the biostimulants of the future

Valagro, a leader in the production and marketing of biostimulants and specialty nutrients, will participate at the 3rd World Congress on the use of Biostimulants in Agriculture as a Gold sponsor.
The Congress, technical and scientific key event for the industry, will be hosted for the first time in the United States, from today to November 30th, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Miami. More than 1,200 delegates from around the world are expected to participate, an indication of the tremendous interest of the scientific community and the agricultural world.
Valagro’s Global R&D scientists in collaboration with their international partners will present their technology highlights and recent advances on innovative and effective biostimulants at the Congress.
In particular, Alberto Piaggesi, Global R&D Director of Valagro, will present the results of a collaborative research program with the "Joint Lab" of Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa in developing a proprietary technology for plant biostimulants based on natural micro-RNAs extracted from plants that modulate different physiological processes in crops of interest: current studies suggest that these plant genetic sequences can modulate physiological responses in plants, thus offering potential opportunities for developing novel, targeted and highly effective biostimulants in the future. Complementing this study, Alessandro Biasone, Lab Specialist - Synthetic & Analytical Chemistry of Valagro, will illustrate an advanced approach to genomic analyses for the chemical characterization of humic substances of different origin, aimed at the development of specific biostimulant formulations.
Additionally, Valagro’s Global R&D team will present 7 scientific posters to illustrate several items such as the phenomics platform called "ScanalyzerHTS": the first "in-house" platform owned by a company, and also the only one of this kind in Italy. A product from the multi-year collaboration with the Metapontum Agrobios research center, the platform makes it possible to integrate the phenomic and genomic approaches to characterize biostimulant compounds and provide input for the design of new prototypes based on the targets of interest.
Giuseppe Natale, CEO of Valagro:
"Innovative research approaches such as those based on the use of the omics technologies presented by Valagro at this World Congress of Biostimulants allow us to broaden our knowledge on how these solutions work, prove their effectiveness, and create increasingly more innovative products which are and truly responsive to the needs of farmers. Thus, we combine productivity and sustainability to meet the food demand of the growing world population. The Congress represents a valuable opportunity to share Valagro's know-how with the scientific community and, more broadly with the industry as a whole, and is the result of continuous commitment to the research and development of state-of-the-art biostimulants. This commitment fosters our will to become a dominant player in the global market for agricultural nutrition and biologicals by integrating and offering advanced solutions and value-added technology services to farmers around the world".
To illustrate the innovation at the heart of its biostimulants, Valagro will use virtual reality as part of an event organized for the Congress's inauguration: journalists and experts of the US market will be accompanied by a real #virtualtour inside the Valagro world, which will then be repeated over the following three days of the Congress for all the visitors at Valagro's stand (number 28/29/40/41).
